Standard Maintenance

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her MacBook Pro on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month. Need a reminder? Add an event to your desktop’s iCal.

With a little bit of care, you can maximize the battery life (i.e. the time your battery will run before it must be recharged) and lifespan of your notebook's battery. Most importantly, use your Apple notebook in its comfort zone for temperature (See “Notebook Temperate Zone”). Don’t leave it locked in a hot trunk during the summer.

the first installation failed because I tried to collect the update before running the program

Uninstalling also partially failed and I had to manually delete the folder containing about 15 files and the desktop short cut, in both cases I got a message that the FTM file was not properly closed last time and should be compacted.

The features were integrated: Users got them all in one package, rather than having to accumulate far-flung innovations. This was a case where the whole was much greater than the sum of its previously scattered parts.
The GUI was the platform's expected foundation, rather than an optional add-on. I truly feel that this is a pre-release of an otherwise professional product on the windows side. It should have been a "give away" to the general Apple public to inspire interest in speech capability for Mac OS. To not include correction capability at the onset of release is silly at best. then I make a clean clone to an external hard disk FW800 La Cie and run the WinXP sp2 installed VM from there

PrntScr key on Mac Keyboard? - Parallels Support Forum: "1) To capture the whole screen: COMMAND, SHIFT, 3

2) To capture a window, dock, menu bar, etc: COMMAND, SHIFT, 4, then press spacebar to choose.

3) To capture a selection: Same as 2 but don't press spacebar, instead click and drag mouse.

4) Go to Macintosh HD, Applications, Utilities, and click on Grab.

When you get a screen shot, it saves to the desktop as a PDF file and not to the clipboard.

I double clicked the desk top icon and after a wait FTM 2008 opened the current tree in Task View

see the orange tab top left - the bottom field is empty because I never clicked on New

the lower screen is running Ancestry.com in Firefox 1.5 on Mac OS 10.4.11 showing a census image from which I might extract data and type it into a tree

when I double clicked to start FTM 16 it was about five times quicker to open and went straight into where I left off yesterday

Adding data to and moving between the fields is like using a spread sheet with complete control from the keyboard without the mouse

a similar view with one item on the to do list but if I doubl click it nothing happens

even on the 22 inch screen I find it hard to read with that combination of colours

it called an irritaing dialogue box

well it was me that marked off Liverpool, Lancashire, England

the fourth tab is Media

but I never import images into tree programs because they make the master file too big
and are difficult to extract

sixth tab is Publish

but you have to double click an icon to get a descendant chart to show
and it is useless for navigation
and the right click mouse menu or a double click do nothing.

To get out there is a tiny back button top left

it links to AncestryPress and this time it crashed FTM 2008 when I double clicked on "go to existing project"

Please keep in mind that in some cases there is no sure fix for the issue and we can only tell what information we need to troubleshoot it further and fix in the next update. This list is based on your reports for Parallels Desktop build 5160 and 3214.

Our current Beta build already fixes some of the issues below, but its not recommended to install it for production purposes as it's not considered stable release version."
