Mac OS X First Aid | Root | Macworld

Mac OS X First Aid | Root | Macworld

Run fsck If you don't have a Mac OS X installation CD or another repair utility handy, all is not lost. Restart, and hold down command-S. This dumps you into single-user mode. You'll see a distressingly long block of white and yellow text against a black background. Don't despair; this is just a variant of OS X's Unix command-line interface.
